critical thinking and media literacy
Digital media literacy (also known as online critical thinking skills) is vital to the safety, health and well-being of individuals and communities. The proliferation of applications and social networks has increased the volume of information we are exposed to every day.
Critical thinking: requires people to reflect and think about their behavior, situation, actions (or the information they access) in an objective and logical way.
Information literacy: requires that people identify the information they need, develop a clear and concise thesis statement and research question, have the skills to access information, evaluate the information they find, use and/or apply the information to the intended purpose, and transmit and/or communicate the information in an ethical and legal manner.
